  • Description

  • Notes

This beautiful deciduous tree reaches 40' tall and 30' wide quickly. It tolerates heat and air pollution. Flowers are large, showy, fragrant, lavender, bell shaped or trumpet shaped. Leaves are light green and hairy, up to 1' long. Because it grows so fast, wood tends to be brittle. Flowers bloom in spring. Create a water ring around tree til it is established. Mulch heavily around tree to conserve water.
Planting: 1. Dig a hole 1" less the depth and 2 times the width of the container. 2. Fill hole with water, let soak. 3. Set root ball in hole. 4. Fill hole halfway with native soil and water. 5. Finish back filling hole, build basin and water.
